Labour MPs attend briefing from Palestinian human rights activist

This evening, a number of Labour MPs joined a briefing from Palestinian human rights activist Bassem Eid at an event organised by the UK-Israel APPG.

Eid’s work since the 1990s has focused on human rights abuses in the Palestinian territories, including by the Palestinian Authority and Hamas. He also spoke about problems with corruption in the PA and frustrations in Palestinian society towards a poor economic situation and lack of political leadership. The attendees also heard about how the movement to boycott, divest and sanction (BDS) would hurt Palestinians economically and damage the prospects for peace.
